44. God the Father
Luke 11:2; 1 Cor. 8:6; Psalm 103:13-14; Isa. 64:8; Matt. 7:9, 11; 18:14; 5:44-45, 48
Leader reads the plain lines; the congregation reads the bold lines.
Jesus said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
To us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.
But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and we all are the work of thy hand.
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
