Our standards
- It is forbidden to post, send, request or link to any sexual content involving a minor, to groom or sexualise a child, or to arrange to meet a child for any harmful purpose. This applies to posts, reels, comments, chat messages, media, listings, profiles and music.
- Accounts are for people aged 13 and above. Fellowship & Connection (including marriage-minded friendship) is for adults aged 18 and above only; it checks the date of birth and never shows under-18s.
- Children's ministry content (Sunbeam, Girls' Auxiliary, Royal Ambassadors) is marked as child-directed: no personalised ads are shown there.
- Members can control who may message them, and can block anyone.
How to report
- In the app or on the website: use Report on any post, comment, listing or profile, or Report in the menu of a chat. Reporting also blocks the member from contacting you.
- By email: neocytech@gmail.com (our child safety contact). Include links or screenshots if you can do so safely; never forward abusive images of a child.
- If a child is in immediate danger, call the police on 112 (Nigeria) or your local emergency number first.
How we respond
- Reports about child safety are reviewed first. Content that breaks these standards is removed and the account is suspended.
- We preserve evidence and report apparent child sexual abuse material to the relevant authorities, including the Nigeria Police Force and, where appropriate, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), in line with the law.
- We cooperate with law enforcement requests made through proper legal process.
For church leaders
Churches and ministries that use FaceChrist for children's activities should follow their own convention's safeguarding guidance, including: two adults present, parental consent for photos, and no private one-to-one messaging between adult workers and children.
