About FaceChrist

One digital home for Christians of every denomination - from the local church to the convention, its region and the world. Looking unto Jesus.

Our purpose

FaceChrist brings together the worship resources, news, ministries, fellowship and giving of the Christian family - Baptist first and open to every denomination - around the world, in one place, on the web and in a mobile app that keeps working when the network is poor.

The Nigerian Baptist Convention

Baptist work in Nigeria began with the arrival of Thomas Jefferson Bowen of the Southern Baptist Convention in Badagry in 1850. The Yoruba Baptist Association was formed in 1914 and grew into the Nigerian Baptist Convention, headquartered at Baptist Building, Ibadan. Today the Convention is one of the largest Baptist bodies in the world, with thousands of churches and millions of members across every region of Nigeria and mission fields beyond.

Four cooperating tiers

Local Church - the autonomous congregation. Association - churches in a district working together. Conference - associations in a state or region. Convention - the national apex body. FaceChrist lets every tier publish news, events, galleries and giving accounts, and lets members see exactly what concerns them.

Auxiliaries, departments and institutions

The Women's Missionary Union (with Sunbeam Band, Girls' Auxiliary, Lydia Auxiliary and the Women's Missionary Society), the Men's Missionary Union (with the Royal Ambassadors and Baptist Men), the Youth and Students' Ministry (Baptist Youth Fellowship, Baptist Student Fellowship and Campus ministries), Music Ministries, Christian Education, the Global Missions Board, Medical and Health Ministries, Social Ministries, Theological Education, Baptist Mission Schools, Publications (Baptist Press), Bowen University and many more are represented on the platform.

For Christians in every nation

The platform began with the Nigerian Baptist Convention and is built for the whole Baptist family. Any national convention or union can join with its own structure (it names its own tiers - conferences, regions, districts or state conventions), its own leaders and officers, giving accounts in its own currency, and its own time zone. Members choose their country and convention when they join, and see news from their church up to their convention, their regional fellowship of the Baptist World Alliance and the world body. See the conventions on the platform.

What you can do here

Read the Bible and hymnal offline, find a church near you, follow your ministries, register for events, give to your church and the Convention, buy and sell within the family, share prayer requests, stream gospel music from Christian ministers, and manage your wallet for airtime and data.

FaceChrist is a community platform. Official statements of the Nigerian Baptist Convention are identified as such by the publishing administrator.

Take FaceChrist everywhere

Twelve complete Bibles offline - English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Yoruba, Hausa and Nigerian Pidgin - with reading plans, the hymnals, liturgy, church locator, groups and your church news, even when the network is poor.
